Valentines Day Special

Technical issues arose at our last Product Party and Prevented us from giving away our free gift. It was frustrating. I'm still new to figuring this thing out so thank you to those who helped me realize there was a problem! Namely my grandma, and my mom.
Sets and collections were displayed only from The Pink Explosion Collection, and the Power Collection. These items are currently being sold on the Kana Wear shop at www.kanawearboutique.com

Anya's Mini Collection: Birthday Add On
Anya's mini collection continues to grow as she creates more designs, and I can't Express to you how proud I am of my big girl! As I grow and learn I teach her. One of the things I taught her about 3 weeks ago are a few tricks in visual merchandising. Like any Parent I'm just showing her the ropes as I learn, but the other day Anya stepped it up a notch.
To you this pair of earrings on a tent in front of a colorful background is probably no big deal but this came only after I showed her how to do the black background. My daughter loves to color like any other child her age, and she'd asked me for these adult coloring pages. After completing one she used it as a background for some earrings.
I'm glad she continues to grow in ways I didn't expect! I can't wait for my Mannequin heads to come in the mail because I want to see what else we can come up with to teach her.
The latest addition to the shop includes this lovely set that was handcrafted by Anya herself. In honor of her 8th birthday celebration on Feb 8 she's selling these sets for $8.00. It comes with 3 bracelets (2 solid colored, and 1 with special design) and a pair of earrings of your choice from the mini collection.

To sign up for our biweekly Art class go to www.kanawear.com! Personal Lessons are still $25/hr and Biweekly art classes are only $10 per person. If you have an organization such as an afterschool program or a camp and you want me to come to teach I do have group rates. I don't teach any more than 20 students at a time. So keep that in mind and we can discuss a schedule and paperwork over Zoom, a regular phone call or whatever you decide! If you need an idea about what art class will consist of here is a YouTube from The New Creature Fashion Channel! Remember to Subscribe! Every 4th Friday is Kids week where I make an update on YouTube and our New Creature Kidz blog!

Biweekly Classes $10/per person
Personal Art Lessons $25/hr
Group Rates (20 student minimum): $185

For the most part when I say Personal Art Lessons for $25/hr, I'm referring to students learning Fashion Drawing, Entrepreneurship, Sewing, and other techniques as well.

We hold biweekly Product Parties so our next LIVE event is on Feb 20! Come to think of it, the following week is Valentine's Day. Every day is a wonderful day to Love in my opinion. A day centered around Love should reflect God because God is Love. With that being said, he wouldn't forget you so why are you discounting yourself if you're single. Go love yourself, treat yourself and I'm not talking hair and nails and your favorite candy. I mean proper self-care! Cause trust me, once you do have that wonderful family so much of you will have to be shared with others that sometimes those moments of solitude can be missed. So whether you are buying for you or for a friend, a person you admire, a spouse, or a lover we have the sale just for you

All hoops, all Twisted Elegance, all Chandelier Earrings are 2 for $10! This is usually a regular deal but this is the last time I'm making this sale available on a consistent basis because I'm raising my prices after Valentines Day. Making jewelry is a labor of love and selling the things I take time to create so cheaply actually needed serious evaluation. I've been told since my youth that I need to reconsider pricing and make them higher, and I'm going to raise prices a little, and only do these deals when I'm holding a sale. Don't worry I still stick with the idea of affordability for my customers, but this time I'm going to get more for my time. So Buy now while you have a chance! Other Sales include the Red and Pink Sale and the $15 set sale!
Any Single Pin earrings Red or Pink are now $5

Valentines Day Special! All Sets sold for $15!

Looking Good

In the latest news concerning Kana Wear and its websites, I'm working on beautification! Last week we held a Product Party on Facebook where no one showed, and a lot of things seemed to go wrong. Faith (my 2 year old) came on in the middle of the live. She popped the bracelet that Anya made her and preceded to slap Anya in frustration! I know running a business and having children isn't easy and I guess I got what I signed up for in having kids.
Although I was incredibly frustrated I figured out a way to display my work, so we got one thing right though! It all started with these beautiful purple earrings. And then another, and finally everything on the site was rebirthed from a painful moment. Anya even had a chance to learn visual merchandising in the process.
After realizing how beautiful the earrings looked on display, I began going on and creating some new looks on my shop website. I changed up the theme and I added some sets as well!
All sets are $15

My daughter even joined in the fun and wanted to make her own collection, and look appealing so here are all of her designs at once!
Anya's Mini Collection is also on our boutique website!

Other Collections being featured are the Power Collection and the Pink Explosion collection!
You can order from any of these collections right now at the Kana Wear Boutique! They're all being posted as I type this!

In other news our next Product Party is on Feb 6 at 7:30pm! Share this flier with EVERYONE you know. Pass on the information. Spread the Word! And Thank you for your support!

Creation Mode

It's been a very creative week! You have no idea! I haven't had a surge of creativity like this since I was a teenager, and my urge to sell online is through the roof. I'm on to bigger things though now, and bigger dreams which consists of social media posts, a beautiful website, and lots of ads on Facebook Marketplace. No that is not a pun, but let me tell you where all this inspiration suddenly came from.

It all started about a week ago when I finally got my package from PandaHall! I ordered some new beads from them wholesale and I combined some of those with what I already had! Now I'm just continuing to make more and more things. I'm getting back to this place I used to be in when I was a teenager. I'd literally have visions and dreams of work and I'd say to myself "I wonder if that would look good"-Talk about making your dreams a reality! I'm getting back to creating it being the fun part again. Some of these items are one of a kind and listed on Facebook Marketplace so make sure you check these out as well as other products! Here are just a few photo's of my most recent work

Anyway, I was trying to tell you about how my shipment of beads came that I ordered online. It took 20 days to arrive since it was from overseas. So as soon as it came I burst into a frenzy of creativity! I haven't felt like this in years. And for the past few days it's been like a burden has lifted off my shoulders every time I make something.

It feels great! Now if only I can get back into my morning coffee routine I'd be able to truly focus more! I've grown the attention span of a mom with 3 kids. I have to start and stop my progress all the time.

I remember getting my package in the mail with all the cool new beads inside. Honestly I had forgotten what I had ordered by the time 20 days past and what sucks is that I forgot what beads look like by the millimeter. So some of the beads were so small compared to what I envisioned. It's okay though because that's the risk you take when you buy online. The pictures show the beads up close, and you're trying to envision your hands touching the products. That's really the only reason that people continue to go shopping for the product on a physical location. The tangible experience does something to a designer in a craft store. We have to feel it to be inspired. Taking your word isn't enough.

This situation only sucks because I was in high school I used to have bead sizes memorized and I'd buy beads from Hobby lobby, Michael's, or Joann's all the time. So when I realized that I had only bought 100 beads or so in 8mm beads (and some smaller than this) I was in complete shock. Seeing the size of the package I ordered was rather disappointing, but I instantly remembered bead sizes and counts. All the memories of retail bought beads came flooding back, and I remembered that this maybe why visiting my local craft store was a weekly escapade. I settled the feeling of disappointment with a long sigh saying "ooooooohhh"😒. Then I quickly got over it and started to design some jewelry. Hey!- don't judge me I waited 20 whole days. I needed to take off the edge!

I didn't realize my edge came with a cost.... That package just came last week, and I already designed several bracelets and so 100 assorted caramelized pearl beads is already made into beautiful jewelry. I did order these wholesale so you better believe I'm about to get my money's worth. Usually 100 CT would probably cost me $3.00+ in retail, but I paid about .50 for the same amount. That's how it goes in wholesale. The more you buy the less you pay. So where I usually end up paying about 35.00 in Walmart for a few stands. I paid 18.75 for over 400 beads and that includes the price of shipping. I still need more and I might be willing to wait another 20 days if I make a large profit from what I've already made. The shipping cost is really what got me, so next time I'll remember to buy big (whenever I get that)and start out with a budget of about $300+ (cause that's when shipping is free). It was only an additional $5.00, and having it shipped express was at least $11. I remember thinking Ha! On my budget? They better be glad they're even getting shipping costs right now *clicks standard delivery*. I'll just remember next time to shop more often with them on that $30  budget that I used to take to Walmart and other craft stores. Even 40% off coupons from those retail outlets wouldn't suffice sometimes because it could only be used per person, and for any regular priced item (not on your total purchase). It also doesn't apply to the sewing machines and other gadgets I've had my eye on for the past few years. So don't judge me if you see me an my family including the baby in the car seat with a Hobby Lobby coupon and cash. I'm trying to get my money's worth over here so I can continue making beautiful jewelry.

Well that's all for today. It was fun discussing one of my passions. Here are some more photo's of my work! Go to www.kanawear.com to see more, and even buy from the new collection if you'd like!

There's a New Designer In Town!

Today was the BIG DAY of the Jewelry Party and it turned out wonderful. Initially I was nervous because I had 3 kids instead of 2 this time. Anyway, I sent a text to Mrs. Renee Crawford who was the coordinator of the entire thing and she was so relaxed about the matter. She told me that my kids can come as well as my God daughter and we stepped out of the house together at about 2:45pm.

All week I've dedicated time to my skirt and hat. I had been slaving away at that pattern for days trying to figure out this and that, and I had finally gotten it on Wednesday last week. Thursday I had to "take off" because my daughter had a doctors appointment. I thought that I would have the time to dedicate to just sewing on Friday however my husband had come home early with the girls from school because he had been up there all morning and afternoon for Daddy Daycare. Although this happened I was persistent, I still cut out my patterns I still did all of my work, and I still at least got the skirt sewn. I made a few mistakes but overall it looked beautiful and that was sort of my point, since it was my Launch Party.

So Today was very important. I not only sold my jewelry but I presented myself as a designer, because that's who I am. Although my design was rather simple it was mine, and came from me. I didn't buy a Butterick, I actually drafted my own pattern based on my own personal measurements and I came out with a skirt for myself.

Mrs. Renee was very sweet, not only making sure everything was taken care of concerning the food, invites, location, and getting us there but also interceding on my behalf as well. She not only bought some of my earrings 4 for $20, she told everyone on the intercessory team at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church about my Jewelry Party and they sowed into my endeavors. So I made 2 sales and  received donations as well for my business.

The purpose of this Jewelry Party was to encourage me to continue on my entrepreneurship journey, and to expose me as the designer that I am. The skirt and the matching hat were additions that I made to this debut only because that was the sort of thing I was going for. We went live for a split second on YouTube to sort of show the world the supporters, and the jewelry party but it wasn't long.

It was a blessing to see the support that I did see. Some knew I was a designer and had been very supportive for some years now, however I wasn't so much caught up on numbers as I was on my own personal goals concerning this party. The dress and the hat were must haves for me, the jewelry was already there, and since it was only my first one I didn't know if anyone would even show up. They did but it wasn't many, and it was still okay because I was more focused on simpler things like my look, and my jewelry, and how I was going to get there with 3 kids, and more important than any of that was showing gratitude. I was very grateful for who came more than how much money was raised, the encouragement I received was important because it feels good to know that someone has your back when you are trying to make it out there as you make your dreams a reality. The seed towards a brighter future was greatly appreciated.

I really enjoyed myself, and I realized that what my husband told me the night before was for me. He told me that Success is not measured in fame and fortune but in how much you prosper. Today I feel as though I succeeded. I've come a long way, and even though I was not always the best I know that this is what I'm called to do. I did succeed because I accomplished my goals. I designed my pencil skirt, I sold jewelry and I had a great Jewelry Party with the help of church family and some friends. It wasn't about the figures for me today, so I was greatly humbled by this experience and I'm looking forward to having many more events.

Jewelry Party

I am so excited to share that I am having my first EVER Jewelry Party! After nearly a week of not knowing where things will be held the host finally called me back and told me that the party will be held at Nancy's Pizza @Camp Creek and it will be on a Saturday October 21 at 3pm. I would be excited if everyone would come and support during this time. I will be live streaming the event, so that everyone can hang out with me and see the merchandise and party.

With great excitement I look forward to this event, however I must prepare myself for this event. Monday I went to Goodwill to see what I could find and I found a whole beading kit for 2.95. Even though this was a bargain there's no way that would be enough to create tons of merchandise for a jewelry party. I also came across some really beautiful remnants. I found some blue floral lace, some red and even some pink. I intended on going to Goodwill in the first place to find a few fabrics and I came out with 3 remnants, and a bead kit, for all of $17. I've done worse in the past and that was pretty good. I still have $40 to spare and I'm determined that all of it is going towards my jewelry party! I'm not changing my mind and I'm not going to shift gears. This is important to me, and I'm going to enjoy myself.

It's a real blessing when someone sows into you, and I'm going to make sure that I do something nice for Deaconess Crawford for hosting my event. One thing my mother taught me to do is say Thank you, and I've been doing it since she first made the suggestion to host a jewelry party for me. It's so important to keep your connections with people because you just never know what they are capable of. I've spoken to Mrs. Crawford several times in church about spiritual and business things way before this came up, and I'm thankful that I keep my relationships with people.

Here are just some of creations I made when I came home from Goodwill. I had to crack open that kit! I was really surprised that I found something like that at Goodwill. I thought it would be the first thing gone, but I was lucky enough to find it and just in time for this Jewelry party this month! Most of the beads in the kits I'll either use for small earrings or fillers for necklaces. I posted a Slide Show on YouTube for my viewers so you can follow the video link and subscribe to my channel. I don't post on it often but I do post on there from time to time and show some of my work

I would love to have a good turn out for this party. I'm going to check out how she does this one and see if I can pretty much do my own without having to depend on so much. I can't promise to make reservations at a place like Nancy's Pizza again, but I can try to do something for myself. It's just such a toss up holding a jewelry event and I'd much rather pay to vend than to pay to vend at a party that I host because it is so expensive.

The YMCA on Campbellton Rd will be holding a Fall Festival on October 31 and I'm going to Register for one of the free tables. Usually when you register to vend at an event they charge $25/table. This time it's free and it's important that people like me take advantage of opportunities like this. I'll buy some candy and give that out since I don't have a car to Trunk the candy in, and that way I have something nice for parents and children alike.

If you are interested in following me to any of these events please feel free to do so. I take Cash and Card so please come and enjoy yourself with us!
